Southport Sharks boasts a diverse range of food and beverage outlets, ranging from a 7-day Buffet which offers a wide assortment of international cuisines that spoils the taste buds with mouth-watering delights whilst also offering an indulging A La Carte menu. A venue that invites you to bring your culinary spin of passion to the team

To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following: 

  • Qualified with a minimum Cert IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Food Safety Hygiene qualification

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Working in a busy venue with a highly skilled team
  • Keeping a sharp attention to detail
  • Ensure that food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are carried out according to established recipes and standards.
  • Utilise your creative expertise in cookery to produce high quality meals for customers.
  • Assist in the training of other chefs/apprentices/trainees to encourage excellent quality and production of menu items.
  • Monitor food quality and ensure policies and hygiene standards are maintained, reporting any deviations to the Head Chef
  • Promote safe work practices in the kitchen
  • Liaise with Sous Chef, Chef D'Partie, Executive Chef regarding workflow requirements.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience in a multi-faceted kitchen
  • Familiarity with the Food Safety Act
  • Time Management skills is a must
  • Ability to work well under pressure
