  • Gr2 Clinical Neuropsychologist, fixed term parental leave cover   

  • 0.6FTE - 3 days per week (22.8 hours)  

  • Located at Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre, Kew 

About Mary Guthrie House  

A unique, state-wide multi-component Neuropsychiatry Unit providing individualised, slow stream recovery support to adults with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or neurodegenerative condition, and associated mental illness, including responsive behaviours. The unit has a neuropsychiatric rehabilitation focus, working collaboratively with consumers to improve and maintain functional independence and to live their best life, as they define it.   

About the role  

We are searching for a Clinical Neuropsychologist (Grade 2) to work within our specialist Neuropsychiatry Unit, as part of a supportive, collaborative multi-disciplinary team.  

A regular day will see you:  

  • Work collaboratively with consumers, families, carers and key stakeholders   

  • Contribute neuropsychology expertise within the multi-disciplinary team   

  • Undertake comprehensive neurobehavioral assessments  

  • Develop and implement detailed positive behaviour support plans in close collaboration with the team   

  • Providing professional advice and consultation to other professions, care providers, community agencies and other relevant stakeholders.  

About you  

Ideally, you’ll bring with you:  

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in supporting consumers with acquired brain injury and/or mental health conditions  

  • Knowledge and experience in consumer centred care; supported decision making; and the recovery model  

  • Understanding and experience in positive behaviour support techniques and interventions  

  • Proven ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and as an independent clinician  

  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice and ability to translate this into practice
