The Opportunity

Due to strategic growth in our power and renewables portfolio, we now have an exciting full time permanent opportunity available for an experienced Pre-Contracts Manager to join us in our Infrastructure Development and Support team in Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth.

Reporting to the General Manager Development and Support you will play a key role in developing and negotiating pre-FID contracting approaches across a number of APA renewable developments. A strong background in renewable project development and/or delivery will see you join an existing team in developing the current portfolio of wind, solar and BESS opportunities, leading to an FID decision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop contracting strategies for power related capital growth projects.
  • Develop and implement the pre-contracts strategy
  • Liaison with internal customers and senior procurement personnel with respect to specifying required services.
  • Lead or participate in post tender negotiations, contract formation and award, ensuring all contractual risks and opportunities are identified and considered.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with contractors/subcontractors as authorised by senior management in liaison with project management, the post award contracts admin team and in-house legal.

Your background

  • Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying / Construction / Engineering / Commerce or relevant field.
  • Proven relevant experience in a similar role with extensive experience within the construction industry.
  • Must have experience in renewable energy projects, i.e. solar, wind (mandatory).
  • Demonstrated competency working on numerous projects concurrently.
  • A proven ability to understand both technical and commercial aspects of key project requirements.

About the Team

The Infrastructure Development and Support team consists of a range of development and delivery disciplines, including procurement and contracting, project controls, planning and scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
