At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Operations Manager (Outstations), and work alongside a close-knit team of technical professionals. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of our QNGR fleet at the Wulkuraka Maintenance Facility. We’ll look to you for:
- Perform the Lead Maintenance Technician role on a rotating basis, supporting in service faults with technical advice to support the Driver and to minimize the in service impact of the fault.
- Raise ‘Incidents’ in SAP based on first contact from Drivers or on-board systems, ensuring high quality reporting to enable effective repairs.
- Liaise with Superintendents in order to effect the repair with no impact to in service performance.
- Assist in the identification and production of vehicle modification programs to improve reliability and maintainability.
- Monitor fleet performance using on-board diagnostics and remote monitoring systems and provide KPI’s as required on critical systems such as HVAC, Toilets, Doors etc.
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to solve complex problems in a fast paced environment.
- An in-depth knowledge of the NGR fleet and sub-systems.
- Significant experience in a technical role, maintaining and repairing the NGR fleet.
- Relevant Trade and/or Engineering qualifications.
Things you’ll enjoy
Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also benefit from:
- Playing a critical role in supporting the safe operation of trains for QLD.
- Having the opportunity to develop your career in global industry leader.
- Additional leave days.
- Purchased annual leave and novated leasing schemes.
- Independent and confidential wellbeing support for you and your family.
- 18 weeks paid parental leave.
- Access to a free corporate gym membership.
- Free salary continuity insurance.
- Free access to Alstom University (1000’s of courses and learning material).
You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you
