Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager Technical, we have an excellent opportunity for a Study Manager to lead and manage evaluation studies to identify and develop business case(s) for significant capital projects across Stanmore Resources. Activities may be carried out directly or through other professional staff or external consultants. 

As Study Manager, you will be accountable for:

  • Delivery of concept, pre-feasibility and bankable feasibility studies for the business on greenfield and brownfield targets to further grow the business in line with the strategic direction 
  • Delivery of study documents, reports, recommendations & presentations that meet study guidelines and procedures 
  • Establishment of a Project Management system that drives delivery of all Plan components in line with the project schedule and/or targets 
  • Optimising the allocation of human & physical resources in respect of engineering, supervision & procurement activities for each study 
  • Identifying, securing and managing required resources to deliver studies to a high quality 
  • Planning and preparing evaluation studies and business cases as required by identifying key value drivers, risks and mitigation strategies for each study 
  • Maintaining & fostering relationships by leading and developing the study team as required 
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders 

To be successful, it is expected you will have:

  • Significant experience working in large mining operations with diverse project experience
  • Strong understanding of value drivers in large mining operations
  • Degree in mining engineering or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar role within mining
  • MBA or recognised commercial qualification (ideal but not essential) 
  • QLD SSE Certificate of Competency (ideal but not essential) 
  • RPEQ and CP qualifications (ideal but not essential)
