Position Overview:

The Behavioural Support Practitioner plays a fundamental role in delivering comprehensive behavioural support, management, and assessments for our clients. This role underlines the clients' right to choice, independence, dignity, privacy, and fulfillment. You will support our teams of Support Workers to identify needs, set meaningful goals, and implement practical strategies that enhance the quality of life for all participants. Collaborating with leaders and team members across multiple sites, you will provide regular, on-site training, guidance, and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist NDIS participants, managers, and Support Workers in identifying needs through comprehensive assessments and person-centered planning.
  • Evaluate, develop, and deliver evidence-based support plans for complex support scenarios.
  • Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies using a positive behaviour support framework, committed to eliminating restrictive practices in both home and community settings.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and behavioural analyses to inform the development of support plans and strategies.
  • Plan, implement, and regularly review Behaviour Support Plans for participants, covering positive behaviour support and specialist topics as required.
  • Train Support Workers on Behaviour Support Management Plans, ensuring meaningful engagement is at the heart of all care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A degree-level qualification as an allied health professional.
  • Proven report-writing experience.
  • A proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas.
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector.
  • Experience providing Behaviour Support to participants with a range of needs and disabilities, such as Autism, ADHD, developmental delay, global and intellectual delay, AOD, acquired brain injury, and various other behavioural issues.
