Traverse Alpine Group, an experienced hospitality operator with a track record of delivering a high standard of food & beverage services and hotels in remote areas, is seeking a Head Chef to join its team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fabulously refurbished venue in Falls Creek and the Albury/Wodonga region. The Head Chef will be responsible for ensuring exceptional quality of food and beverage, managing kitchen staff, and creating innovative menus that will appeal to skiers and non-skiers alike. The ideal candidate should be a talented chef with a proven track record and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage menus that meet the highest standards of quality, freshness, and seasonality, combining both modern-creative and traditional styles of cooking.
- Hire and manage kitchen staff, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and hygiene.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they have all the skills necessary to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
- Maintain accurate food and labor cost, inventory, and production records, ensuring that all targets are met.
- Work with the F&B Director to develop, execute, and oversee food and beverage events.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment and facilities are maintained and fully operational, and that all health and safety regulations are followed.
- Create and maintain a positive and professional working environment within the kitchen and across the wider Traverse Alpine Group team.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Head Chef in a similar role.
- A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences, with a track record of creating innovative menus.
- Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills, with an ability to manage a large, diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaboratively with both kitchen staff and wider Traverse Alpine Group team.
- High levels of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in culinary arts.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
