The Opportunity

HeliMods are seeking an experienced Certification Engineer with between 3-5 years of relevant industry experience that have a real passion for technology and innovation. This position involves conducting thorough assessments and evaluations of aircraft designs, systems, and components to ensure they meet all applicable regulations and safety requirements. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to achieve compliance and maintain the highest levels of safety and quality at HeliMods.

If successful, you will be working on exciting new products for our civil and military clients, building new organisational capability, and will be responsible within your team for timely, high-quality delivery against challenging project targets.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in any relevant engineering discipline but particularly interested in structures, mechanical systems and electrical systems
  • 3-5 years relevant aerospace, mechanical or mechatronics engineering industry experience
  • A strong working knowledge of all legislation and regulations, in particular FAR/CS Parts 23, 25, 27 and 29.
  • Good working knowledge of CASR Part 21 strongly desirable
  • Ideal candidate will have held a design approval authorisation under a CASA 21.J approved design organisation or similar (e.g. DASA DOA or EASA DOA or FAA DER)
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (Siemens NX preferred)
  • Experience in Product Lifecycle Management software (Siemens Teamcenter preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience conducting comprehensive reviews of aircraft designs, systems and components to assess compliance
  • The energy, intelligence and initiative to proactively overcome industries’ toughest challenges
  • Experience collaborating with design engineers and other stakeholders to address non-compliance issues and develop effective solutions
  • A structured approach to working with an ability to deliver despite ambiguity that allows you to thrive in a highly autonomous environment

Inherent Requirements

  • Does not have an existing criminal conviction.
  • Must meet minimum criteria as set out in CASA Part 21 MOS to be able to be authorised to carry out design activities.
  • Due to the nature and privilege of information, and in accordance with Australian Standards for Workforce Screening (ISO 4811-2022), it is an inherent requirement that a security clearance and police check are obtained prior to employment.
