About the Role:
As an Assistant Accountant at Qscan, you will have the chance to take ownership of key financial processes and provide accounting support for our regional operational teams. You’ll play an integral role in our finance team, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
 
This role is suited to someone who is enthusiastic and driven to develop their career in a supportive team and growing business.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Process month-end accounting entries, accruals, and prepare accurate supporting schedules.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee key cash and receivables reconciliations, including fortnightly debtor reporting.
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring precision in financial records.
  • Support the preparation of BAS calculations and support in weekly cashflow forecasting.
  • Assist with the annual audit process and collaborate with Finance Business Partner and wider finance team on ad hoc projects.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar Assistant Accountant role, with experience in month-end processing.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced use of formulas and functions.
  • Autonomy: Ability to manage tasks independently while effectively communicating when support is needed.
  • Qualifications: Degree-qualified in Commerce, Accounting or similar discipline. Possibility further education through CA or CPA qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Software Expertise: Experience with Business Central or other Microsoft financial reporting packages is advantageous.
