Relevant duties and responsibilities

·    Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to develop and refine a diverse menu that caters to members, guests, and event attendees;

·    Execute food preparation and cooking duties precisely, ensuring all dishes are prepared according to recipes, including meals for large volumes during special events;

·    Work effectively within a large team of chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, maintaining an efficient kitchen environment.

·    Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement;

·    Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations;

·    Monitor kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and ingredient quality;

·    Provide customised meal options that align with various dietary requirements for customers and members;

·    Contribute to the planning and/or execution of large-scale catering for club events, including corporate functions, member gatherings, and special celebrations;

·    Work with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality produce and manage food costs effectively;

·    Stay current on culinary trends and innovations, bringing new ideas and techniques to the kitchen that enhance our offerings and keep our menu competitive.

Required Qualifications

·    At least One of the following:

o AQF (or equivalent) Associate Degree;

o AQF (or equivalent) Advanced Diploma;

o AQF (or equivalent) Diploma; or

o At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

Required Experience

·    A minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience as a chef in a large organisation.
