Court Services Victoria is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Associate to Her Honour Judge Hogan. Judge Hogan sits exclusively in the criminal division of the County Court, hearing a wide spectrum of serious criminal matters.
About the County Court
The County Court of Victoria is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria.
The County Court conducts circuit sittings in regional cities throughout Victoria. Her Honour and her staff usually undertake two circuits of several weeks each year.
About the Role
The appointed Associate will work with one other staff member to support Her Honour. The successful candidate must have a degree in law and preferably be admitted to legal practice with experience working in criminal law.
The role requires supporting Her Honour both in and out of court and involves confidence in public speaking in the court room and giving instruction to juries. It also necessitates sound organisational skills, keen attention to detail, discretion, good communication skills and a familiarity with programs in the Microsoft Office suite.
The successful applicant would be expected to commit to the position for at least 12 months, albeit that the position is ongoing and full time. The commencement salary is $74, 580 (VPS Grade 3.1) + Superannuation.
