About the Position

We’re looking for experienced Lead Design Engineer to join our Project Engineering team delivering design and engineering scopes of work across HV infrastructure project portfolio including solar, wind and BESS.

This is a permanent position be located in any major Queensland centre. This is a Professional & Managerial Grade Three level position with salaries starting from $186k + 12.75% superannuation.

The Role

The Lead Design Engineer is responsible for managing the detailed design delivery of assigned Energy and Infrastructure projects within Yurika’s program of works. The role provides high levels of technical and solutions support to the project delivery team, developing fit for purpose, accurately scoped and costed technical solutions that align with the client’s needs. 
Some of the accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Demonstrated expert knowledge of the Energy Infrastructure and Utility Services market, how it is evolving and have established key knowledge areas and knowledge partners to allow the business to adapt quickly and adequately in providing new solutions to the market. Very strong understanding and experience in the design, construction, constructability, optioning and delivered costs associated with multi-disciplinary HV infrastructure projects including a demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to workplace health and safety, and environmental practices. Direct experience in designing, constructing and commissioning of HV electrical infrastructure projects, with experience to include the civil, mechanical, control, protection, telecommunications, HV cable systems and OHL systems components. Broad technical and engineering understanding of HV connection solutions, Power Systems and electrical networks knowledge, inclusive of optioning and the development of concurrent solutions in complex decision environments. Strong cost and estimating knowledge in integrated HV solutions to develop and implement cost effective fit-for purpose solutions. Proven skill in developing and maintaining viable customer relationships and understanding, supplying and delivering product solutions according to customer needs including entrepreneurial insight in the implementation of customer-focussed projects. Strong overall commercial acumen and proven ability to design and deliver projects and products to time, cost and quality objectives that address risks and reputational interests in a commercial context. Demonstrated success as an agent of change within a company undergoing significant transformation towards improving its commercial and competitive standing. Demonstrated ability to be a leader in a small multi-disciplinary team environment that places a high value on collaboration.

About You

 You have a very strong understanding and experience in the design, construction, constructability, optioning and delivered costs associated with multi-disciplinary HV infrastructure projects including a demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to workplace health and safety, and environmental practices.
You have direct experience in designing, constructing and commissioning of HV electrical infrastructure projects, with experience to include the civil, mechanical, control, protection, telecommunications, HV cable systems and OHL systems components.
You have a broad technical and engineering understanding of HV connection solutions, Power Systems and electrical networks knowledge, inclusive of optioning and the development of concurrent solutions in complex decision environments. You have strong cost and estimating knowledge in integrated HV solutions to develop and implement cost effective fit-for purpose solutions.
You have proven skill in developing and maintaining viable customer relationships and understanding, supplying and delivering product solutions according to customer needs including entrepreneurial insight in the implementation of customer-focussed projects.
You have strong overall commercial acumen and proven ability to design and deliver projects and products to time, cost and quality objectives that address risks and reputational interests in a commercial context.
You have demonstrated success as an agent of change within a company undergoing significant transformation towards improving its commercial and competitive standing.
You have demonstrated ability to be a leader in a small multi-disciplinary team environment that places a high value on collaboration. You have high level of written and oral communication ability, along with well-developed inter-personal and negotiating skills

Essentials
Bachelor's degree in Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland.(RPEQ) A Current C Class Drivers License
