As an Electrical Design Draftsperson at Wilmar Sugar you will be involved in all aspects of the electrical design and drawing process across a wide array of projects including locomotive upgrades, Schneider PLC upgrades, High Voltage RMU upgrades, general arrangements and everything in-between

Based in Townsville, this role will involve traveling to various locations within tropical North Queensland, immersing yourself in all aspects of project design from inception and building upon it in a collaborative environment. This fast-paced work environment ensures exposure to diverse projects and settings, allowing you to contribute your expertise while also gaining valuable insights and experiences.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Design team and Engineers to thoroughly investigate all project parameters.
• Manage drafting projects, ensuring adherence to critical maintenance deadlines.
• Work closely with site trades and supervisors to assess design requirements.
• Generate engineering drawings and necessary documentation for all general equipment installed across the Wilmar Sugar and Renewables business.
• Ensure that drafting tasks are carried out in compliance with statutory acts and regulations, business standards, and applicable industry codes of practice.
• Maintain an up-to-date drawing register to track changes and revisions accurately.

The Successful Applicant

We are in search of an individual with previous drafting experience in the heavy industry sector, with a sound working knowledge of Autocad software. The ability to manage multiple drafting projects simultaneously is crucial for your success. Candidates with an electrical trade background would have an added advantage. Individuals with the necessary drafting experience and management skills can expect future opportunities for career growth.
