Who are Frazer-Nash Consultancy?

With over 1000 employees, we work from a network of nine UK and four Australian locations. Our people apply their technical and consulting expertise to develop, enhance and protect our clients’ critical assets, systems, and processes.

We offer diverse and structured career paths for some of the world’s best talent so they can help us forge a secure, mobile, and sustainable world. As part of our team, you will benefit from the breadth and diversity of what we are doing today and become part of the fabric that shapes where we are headed next.

Our commitment to building a diverse and inclusive team has been at the core of our success, and it is our people who make us what we are. When you join Frazer-Nash, you become part of a community of exceptional professionals who live and share the same values.

You will have the opportunity to work and deliver across a range of varied projects, regularly applying your experience and knowledge to new environments.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking to further grow our already highly regarded systems safety and nuclear engineering capability. We are thus keen to hear from those with nuclear safety experience, especially in the naval nuclear sector. Those with broader naval nuclear experience are also invited to apply.

Our work is spread across diverse industries from defence to healthcare, energy production to transport infrastructure. We work with our clients to refine their needs and support them in delivering and assuring solutions that are fit for purpose, deliver safety and are environmentally compliant.

At Frazer-Nash we can offer professional engineers of any technical discipline a dynamic work environment, where you bring your own expertise to our group but with an enthusiasm for working across sectors and broadening your experience base.

With the announcement of the new AUKUS pact there has never been a better time for engineering professionals, especially those with nuclear safety expertise, to be in Australia. Australia needs to build a significant sovereign workforce in order to deliver this major uplift in Defence capability. This is supercharging an already exciting environment for fast career progression.

Additionally, we have a wide range of other interesting and innovative safety and assurance projects to help broaden and strengthen your skills.

Our current projects include:

Supporting naval surface ship and submarine programs in Adelaide.

Supporting the safety case development of Australia’s first Commonwealth radioactive waste disposal facility.

Leading thinking on the assurance of autonomy.

Developing an understanding of how machine learning can support safety engineering.

Unlocking existing transport regulatory frameworks to enable autonomous operations.

Digitising system engineering support for increased productivity.

Supporting the assurance of Australia’s commercial space related activities.

Delivering the safety and assurance programs for major rail infrastructure projects in Sydney, Perth and Melbourne.

Improving the efficiency of power generation and transmission through innovative modelling

What Australia offers

Australia is investing an historic amount of money into Defence spending over this decade, including an estimated $268-$368 billion on acquiring nuclear powered submarines under the AUKUS partnership. This is indicative not only of a changing global strategic landscape but a country with a sense of purpose and identity. This level of investment offers huge opportunity for you to bring your expertise to the fore and add a significant new dimension to your career, whilst enjoying all that Australia has to offer.

Australia is famous for its “have a go” lifestyle and Australian people are known as some of the most welcoming in the world. Australians also love the great outdoors and for good reason, Australia is a land of beautiful contrasts, from wide-open plains to lush tropical rainforests and everything in between.
