Mount Barker Community College is seeking a highly motivated, proactive Assistant Cleaner in Charge who takes pride in being responsible for providing a high standard of cleanliness within the workplace in order to provide a visually pleasing and safe external learning environment for our students, staff and visitors to the school.

As the Assistant Cleaner in Charge you would assist the Cleaner in Charge to organise and supervise cleaning staff and provide on the job induction training for new cleaning staff. To be successful in this position, you will ideally have the ability to organise and supervise staff. You should have excellent knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods and practices. You will ideally have strong interpersonal and team motivational skills and be happy to receive and carry out instruction as required.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

Ability to recognise and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions and training guidelines. Knowledge of and ability to use cleaning equipment, including polishers, vacuum cleaners and pressure cleaners. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in the safe use and storage of cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals. Initiative and good organisational skills.
