About the opportunity 

We are currently seeking a hands-on handyperson to join our team at our Moran Sylvania home. You will be worked Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. 

You will work with a wonderful team of dedicated people and your contribution will make a difference to our residents’ enjoyment of their life every day. 

You will be supported and mentored to ensure you thrive in your role with us.

Key responsibilities: 

The Handyperson is responsible for routine maintenance activities inside and outside the home which covers equipment, building, fixtures and fittings and some gardens. 

• Perform maintenance tasks according to a planned schedule of work.
• Maintain records using established systems and processes.
• Arrange equipment and building repairs with external suppliers.
• Receive deliveries and manage bulk storeroom.
• Maintain the grounds of the home.

Skills/Requirements:

• Previous general maintenance experience
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work semi-autonomously.
• Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety requirements
• Trade qualification desirable
• Basic Computer skills
• Knowledge of the aged care industry will be favourably considered.
• Current drivers’ licence, police check & valid working rights.
• Current Influenza vaccination
