Purpose of the Role:

As an Operations Controller, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating our bus services, ensuring all operations run smoothly and effectively. You will provide real-time support to our frontline driving staff and ensure compliance with all pertinent regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate bus and employee operational movements, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Schedule maintenance requirements in liaison with workshop personnel.
  • Ensure fleet availability meets service demands across operational depots.
  • Continuously evaluate and manage operational challenges, including staffing changes and unexpected service needs.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to minimize service disruptions.
  • Record all operational occurrences to meet reporting obligations and enhance performance analysis.
  • Promote a culture of safety and proactive communication within the team.

Qualifications / Experience:

Mandatory:

  • Experience in scheduling and operations within a complex environment.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong understanding of Heavy Vehicle National Law and Regulations.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn company systems quickly.
  • Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the transport/logistics industry.
  • Familiarity with planning software such as Coach Manager.
