About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Engine Operations Manager to lead our team in Mackay. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, planning, and controlling the service operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a safe, efficient, and productive service operation.
  • Supervise, coordinate, plan, and control the Mackay service operation.
  • Attract, develop, and retain a highly skilled and dedicated service team.
  • Understand and implement OEM process and procedures.
  • Assist the Service Manager with the development and expansion of the Service Department Business Plan.
  • Monitor customer service trends to make necessary improvements and assist the team in developing appropriate standards and processes.
  • Provide effective communication to workshop employees via daily toolbox meetings.
  • Plan for the future of the department and implement actions to ensure continued growth and development.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas and concepts that continually improve the service department.
About You

To be successful, you must demonstrate a commitment to safe working practices. A minimum of 5 years' experience in the heavy engine related business or similar is required, along with advanced knowledge of Penske brands Western Star, MAN, Dennis Eagle, MTU, Detroit & Allison.

You should have experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment with strong customer-facing responsibilities. A strong understanding and working knowledge of Quality Assurance are also essential.

A team player who will adhere to and promote the Company's Values & Behaviours, you must have the ability to motivate and coach employees in order to achieve individual department and team goals.
