The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified RN3 Senior Nurse to join the CAMHS Forensic Service working in a full-time capacity until January 2026.

The Senior Nurse - CAMHS Forensics Service, duties include;

  • Providing direct expert forensic mental health care for an individual or group of clients and clinical leadership to multidisciplinary staff.
  • Ensures and provides quality forensic mental health services to children, adolescents and their families experiencing complex, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, within a multidisciplinary, interagency team and forensic context.
  • Providing services at the Youth Court, Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre and some after hours work, including occasional shifts on a Saturday.
  • Providing mental health nursing care.

This role will provide the pivotal leadership and co-ordination of patient/client care delivery in the CAMHS Forensic service to achieve continuity and quality of patient/client care and outcomes and efficient patient/client flow.

About the Role.

If you are a registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience and you have demonstrated competence in delivering proficient and comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and direct clinical services to children, young people and their families experiencing complex, acute or chronic mental illness/ trauma or a wide range of emotional and behavioural disturbance, then this role is for you.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services for perinatal women.
