The Department of Industry, Science and Resources and our broader portfolio are integral to the Australian Government's economic agenda. Our purpose is to help the government build a better future for all Australians through enabling a productive, resilient and sustainable economy, enriched by science and technology.

The Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD) provides a range of enabling services and operations delivery to the department and to Australian businesses. The Digital Services for Business Branch is responsible for the development and delivery of enhancements on the business.gov.au website. The team is seeking a highly experienced full-stack developer who specialises in Sitecore to work across several small projects, ongoing enhancements and BAU. The successful applicant will work as part of an agile multi-disciplinary team, delivering against a prioritised backlog of work.

The Sitecore full-stack developer will be required to:

  • Create highly functional, visually rich interfaces that are both usable and accessible across all common browsers and devices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business.gov.au brand guidelines, design systems and compliance with accessibility standards.
  • Work with product owners, delivery teams, UX and designers to ensure a consistent experience for customers at every touchpoint, across multiple services/ products.
  • Provide advice and guidance to content and delivery teams for best practice utilisation of the Sitecore CMS.
  • Implement the necessary ongoing Sitecore monitoring and upgrades to best utilise the enterprise modules within Sitecore with a view to implement advanced technologies to harness improved experiences and efficiencies according to the department's direction.
  • Collaborate with internal dependency teams to ensure we are meeting the necessary security and compliance and aligning the use of Sitecore to the department's enterprise architecture ecosystem.
  • Be available outside of core business hours to ensure service availability.


Essential Criteria

  1. Experience working at pace both independently and as part of an Agile multi-disciplinary team
  2. Experience in developing for multiple browsers and devices, and meeting accessibility standards
  3. Experience with Azure PaaS Cloud or equivalent cloud technology
  4. Minimum 2 years' experience developing on the Sitecore platform from v9 upwards Experience developing web and frontend applications using the following technology stack: • .NET • C# • Node.js • ASP.NET MVC • Modern JS Frameworks • CSS • HTML
  5. Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Criteria

  1. Experience in Azure DevOps or Microsoft TFS and working with search technologies
  2. Eye for detail & strong understanding of modern web application development practices
  3. Experience working with Sitecore xDB, xConnect and implementing website personalisation
