What you’ll do
This is one of the key roles in the Wpay Engineering space, directly reporting to the Engineering Manager. You must be passionate as well as experienced with cloud and platform architecture design, preparation, cost, risk estimation, and more importantly development leadership along with coaching teams on their technical capability. The ideal candidate will also work as an interface between cross teams including Developers / Engineers within different streams, Operations and Support staff, Business Stakeholders etc. A maturity level of mixed technical skills are required besides cloud computing in order to efficiently translate and implement business and technical requirements.
What you’ll bring
You bring with you a background in Software Engineering whilst having recent experience leading agile teams and individuals. Have a strong experience delivering functional/non-function technical solutions and are able to build strong relationships and have a clear and concise communication style.
- Minimum 12 years’ experience within the IT Industry/retail services or in technology delivery along with 5 + years leading technical teams
- Experience setting up GCP Cloud Infrastructure and platform for data space will be essential for this role
- Experience with MongoDB, DevOps & GitHub, Kubernetes Service will be key
- Cloud monitoring tools include Prometheus, Grafana, Appinsight and Dynatrace etc.
- Infrastructure as Code – Terraform
- 8 + years’ experience in Software Engineering - familiar with code languages including .Net C#, Java, Node.js, Angular.js, React.js, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, SQL / NoSQL (including Postgres, MS SQL, Mongo.DB), Native and non-Native app languages (including Java (Android) and Swift (iOS)
- SDK development and API development (including Rest/JSON, and Graphql), and API management environments such as Apigee
- Good understanding of data engineering patterns, including NRT time, synchronous data integration, event messaging, pub/sub and Kafka models, and legacy patterns such as SFTP
