The Opportunity - Full Time

An opportunity has arisen for an in house Junior Legal Counsel to support Greenstone and its wider group of companies.

The primary responsibility of the role will be the review and negotiation of contracts whilst providing sound, commercially pragmatic and timely legal advice in relation to legal aspects of organisational business lines and commercial arrangements.

What are we looking for?

• Tertiary qualified in law and admitted to practice in NSW with a minimum of 4 years post-admission experience
• Demonstrated post-qualification experience in contract review and negotiation, including with specific expertise in securing strong strategic outcomes with respect to indemnities, limitation of liability, risk management, intellectual property, confidentiality, privacy and competition and consumer law
• Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution and problem solving, and management of commercial disputes at all phases of the dispute process
• Interpretation of new and amended legislation, and the effect of that legislation on operating activities
• Excellent time and stakeholder management, with ownership of deadlines and the ability to manage both priorities and stakeholder expectations
• Experienced at finding innovative solutions as a strategic thinker
• Autonomous, positive and strong work ethic
• Confident written and verbal communication and relationship building skills, with an ability to explain complex legal issues in concise and plain language at all levels within and outside of the organisation

Desirable

• • Familiarity in the registration, review and management of intellectual property, including in relation to trademarks
  • Experience at a leading law firm in private practice and/or in-house experience in a corporate environment
  • Experience in the insurance sector
