Groundsperson

Reporting to the Airside Maintenance Team Leader, the Groundsperson will contribute to the maintenance and reliability of the grounds services associated with the airport’s roads, runways, taxiways, aprons, buildings, gardens, mains services and civil infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that grounds maintenance activities are carried out in an efficient and timely manner whilst complying with relevant statutory regulations, airport policies and guidelines. In this role you will predominantly manage airside grounds, which will include line painting, mowing, weed control and general maintenance work.
As a key team member, you will contribute to the implementation of the maintenance plan and optimal utilisation of the Ground Services Section financial resources. You will understand, work within and contribute to the development of company policies and procedures, including the Airport Emergency Response plan.
The Groundsperson will work in the busy Facilities Maintenance team within the broader Airport Operations business unit. You are a positive and motivated team player that takes pride in their work.
You are able to conduct physical activities relevant to the position, occasionally working at heights and in confined spaces in all weather conditions. You will have the ability to work irregular hours and night work as necessary to cover absence and operational requirements.
As the majority of the duties will be positioned airside, the ability to meet airport driving requirements and maintain an aviation security clearance is essential.
The Groundsperson will have experience operating and maintaining civil and industrial plant and equipment. Broad experience of civil maintenance works and knowledge of horticultural herbicides/chemicals and the ability to interpret technical drawings and data will be favourable.
The safety of our people is paramount and a knowledge of WHS standards and compliance of relevant statutory regulations, airport policies and guidelines is imperative.

- Backhoe licence
- Elevated Work Platform licence
