Position at Perth Veterinary Specialists Oncology Internship Perth Veterinary Specialist is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic veterinarian to join the team as a Veterinary Oncology Intern. The opportunity This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the only dedicated oncology department in Western Australia. The intern would work directly with the only registered veterinary oncologists in Western Australia, an oncology registrar, and a team of experienced veterinary nurses. The internship provides exposure to a large and wide variety of oncological cases and treatment modalities, including electrochemotherapy and radiation therapy. Key responsibilities: Assessment of patients for medical and radiation therapy, daily rounds presentation, treatment discussion and decision making. Assist in the safe administration of chemotherapy. Support oncology patients through required departments such as diagnostic imaging, surgery, and emergency. Participation in continuing education sessions and rounds, including inter-departmental journal club and rounds. Assisting in the training of the rotating intern and veterinary students Qualifications: Qualified veterinarian with registration in Western Australia MANZCVS in Small Animal Medicine or current preparation would be preferred but not essential Sound knowledge base in small animal medicine with a strong interest in veterinary oncology Excellent communication and teamwork skills, demonstrates initiative and committed to providing care of the highest standard.
