We have an exciting career opportunity for a qualified mechanic to join our trades team

In this role, you will report to the team leader and will be responsible for providing mechanical maintenance services for all fleet and plant equipment across Council. 

On a daily basis you will: 

  • Assist the Team Leader to deliver all mechanical works; programs/ schedules to the agreed standards.  
  • Undertake the maintenance and repair of Council’s plant, vehicles, and equipment to industry standards. 
  • Adapt to changing priorities and undertake other tasks as directed, to assist teams and operational areas, particularly in wet weather or other emergencies to meet community needs. 
  • Have a sound knowledge in using computer software such as Microsoft office. 

About you: 
The successful candidate will have previous experience in the maintenance and repair of large plant, fleet vehicles and equipment. Proficiency in utilising vehicle asset management systems is required.

Qualifications: 

  • Current Trade Certificate for Motor Mechanic repair work
  • Hold a current NSW Class C & MR Driver’s license. 
  • Hold an RMS vehicle inspection certificate, (or to be obtained prior to confirmation of appointment).

This is a permanent full-time opportunity.  

  • Monday-Friday
  • 6:00am-2:30pm
  • 38 hours
  • Monthly rostered day off

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $68,638.99 to $75,563.22 plus 11% Superannuation.

This position requires the preferred candidate to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical Check, which also includes a Drug and Alcohol test.
