The Opportunity

Albany Creek Retirement Village is set on 11 hectares of beautifully maintained gardens and greenery that surrounds its 380+ independent living villas & apartments. We have a rare opportunity for a passionate, creative and energised Events & Activities Coordinator to coordinate events, activities, functions and services for residents. In this community, you will motivate, engage and enable residents within our apartments to participate in a wide range of experiences including physical, social and community-orientated activities every day. This is a highly rewarding role where you will enjoy creating a culture of vibrancy within our Albany Creek team. Regardless of your background, if you are passionate about promoting the independence of senior Australians, this role is for you 

This is a permanent full-time role working Monday-Friday.

You will

  • Coordinate and deliver fun, inclusive and exciting events to our residents on a regular schedule (think - morning teas, music classes, happy hours, bus trips, bingo and more)
  • Deliver a holistic activities program that promotes independence, learning new hobbies and enabling social connections with other residents
  • Collaborate and engage with key stakeholders such as local businesses, schools, childcare centres and Aveo staff to deliver programs that builds participation 
  • Create schedules for all new events and distribute monthly newsletters highlighting upcoming events 
  • Be the welcoming face to all new residents in the community by ensuring they are engaged and supported in their transition to our community.
  • Complete general ad-hoc duties including (but not limited to): conducting feedback, attending meetings, participating in events and general administrative tasks

What you will bring

  • A genuine interest in improving the lives of seniors 
  • A passion for coordinating programs, events or activities with a resident-centred approach
  • Be creative - we want someone to create FUN events
  • Certificate IV in Leisure & Health (desired, but not essential)
  • Two COVID-19 Vaccinations and First Aid & CPR Certificate (required or willing to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Current Police Check clearance (We can complete for you)
