Salary: $74,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Craigieburn VIC 3064

Our client is seeking a full-time chef to join their restaurant located in Craigieburn, Victoria.

Tasks required include:

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes, following the menu and specials.
  • Ensure food is prepared to a consistently high standards.
  • Ensure the freshness of food and ingredients.
  • Practice cost control where possible.
  • Assist with the training staff, including any apprentices and trainees.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen workspace.
  • Consult with supervisory staff, manager and kitchen staff to plan menus and special event needs.
  • Hire, train, and supervise cooks and other food preparation workers.
  • Create good communication between floor and kitchen staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Order food and other ingredients from suppliers and receive deliveries.
  • Arrange storing of food in different types of facilities such as refrigerators, air tight containers, hot case, and zip pouch with controlled temperature as bper the requirement of the dish.
  • Demonstrate sound teamwork / organisation skills.
  • Assist in stock control, inventory, and ordering of ingredients.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are maintained.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality
  • Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience as a Chef
  • Previous experience as a Chef in a Café environment would be highly regarded.
