The Cloud & Information Services (CIS) division of SAS consists of over 1,000 employees responsible for all corporate IT services as well as operating SAS Managed Cloud. CIS is a customer-centric organization dedicated to designing, building, and operating world class technical solutions for our internal and external customers. CIS is comprised of departments focused on Enterprise Technologies, Employee Technologies, IaaS, SAS Managed Cloud, Security and Business Operations. These global services are executed locally through the oversight and leadership of Regional Leaders in EMEA and APAC as well as our Pune, India Shared Services Leader. CIS influences SAS’s strategic direction and aligns investments in technology and initiative prioritization with our overall corporate strategic direction.

The Sr. Director of IT will report directly to the Chief Information Officer. This leader will be responsible for corporate IT and SAS Managed Cloud service delivery across Asia Pacific. This role will collaborate closely the CIO and with other CIS global service owners to design, deliver and maintain all IT and Cloud services in the region. Additionally, this role will partner closely with Asia Pacific Sales Leaders, Customer Success Leaders, Professional Service Leaders and other key SAS stakeholders across the AP region to ensure IT strategies align with company goals and successful execution of our SAS Managed Cloud portfolio of services. Regular travel to other AP SAS offices will be required, up to 25% of the time.

We are looking for a strategic thinker with the ability to influence and translate strategy into actionable plans. The role will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the global IT and SAS Managed Cloud teams while directly overseeing the local execution of those services throughout Asia Pacific. The successful candidate will lead by example, support the team in navigating competing priorities, manage through escalations, communicate clearly and often, and will inspire ideation and confidence. The ability to build strategic, trusted business partnerships is critical to the successful delivery of internal IT services. Furthermore, the ability to be commercially mindful and customer-centric is absolutely required to partner with our FrontLine resources to drive and deliver continued growth in SAS Managed Cloud revenues.

This position is the top leader for SAS in Asia Pacific for internal IT and SAS Managed Cloud. The leader in this role will have to balance internal IT demand with external customer demand in SAS Managed Cloud. The leader will contribute to the global strategy of CIS while executing local to the region. As a trusted member of the CIO leadership team, this role will also help drive continuous improvements, resource and cost optimization programs and other strategic initiatives as assigned by the CIO.

What you’ll do

Manage a team of ~100 corporate IT and SAS cloud service delivery professionals across the AP region. Provide oversight and direction for all IT services provided in AP. SAS’s IT operating model is based on defined global services that are executed locally. Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing lifecycle management of cloud-based services and solutions to our external customers Ensure adoption of and adherence to best practices in cloud architecture, security and compliance. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key business partners such as Sales Leaders (AP RVP, VPs, Country Managers), Customer Success and PSD across the organization to instill confidence in SAS Managed Cloud service delivery and execution. Handle external customer escalations for SAS Managed Cloud, by working directly with customers and internal partners as needed to resolve problems. Provide regional leadership including communicating the IT vision, setting local expectations, communicating and aligning within AP on globalization programs and other initiatives. Promote a culture of accountability and excellence inside and across the CIS team in AP. Regular technology financial tracking, reporting variance, and forecasting to CIO. Proactively communicate corporate objectives, goals, directives, and policies, creating a clear vision and positive, goal-oriented, collaborative environment Align to a corporate direction and execute and champion locally inspiring confidence in decision making. Scale SAS Managed Cloud delivery services to meet customer demand. This includes building out the local team when needed while also leverage the global shared service model as appropriate. Maintains an awareness of and researches new technologies as they relate to the delivery of IT and Cloud services

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Minimum of twelve years in a senior leadership role in information technology, including eight years in a formal manager role Proven experience in a regional leadership role within IT Cloud Services & Delivery. Experience with hosted managed services is also preferred. Strong understanding of cloud technologies and their application in enterprise environments Familiarity with regional regulations, compliance requirements and cultures in the Asia Pacific region Demonstrated success in managing large, complex global projects and diverse teams Proven ability to interface, influence and manage within all levels of organization to include peers, executives and partners. Extensive experience in customer facing roles for supporting sales pursuits, managing customer esclations, and communicating to C-level executives.
