About the role 

The Senior Specialist Modern Slavery will support the development of our program of work to engage with businesses and other stakeholders to support their actions to effectively address modern slavery and lead the development of resources to support our modern slavery product offering.  The position is a great opportunity for a professional with experience in modern slavery and consulting to contribute to a whole-of-community approach to address modern slavery.  

Day to day you will: 

  • Working alongside the Senior Manager, Modern Slavery, develop the product development strategy to engage businesses and other stakeholders and increase their effectiveness in responding to modern slavery based on Australian Red Cross unique programmatic experience 
  • Lead the development and delivery of modern slavery materials and training packages to support businesses respond effectively modern slavery informed by lived experience 
  • Develop partnerships to increase supports available for survivors of trafficking and slavery currently supported through the Support Program 
  • Prepare and submit high-quality pitches, funding proposals and grants/tenders 
  • Consult and engage with other areas across Red Cross to identify and promote opportunities modern slavery product offerings 

What you will bring 

  • Substantial experience in modern slavery and human trafficking/forced labour including knowledge of relevant Australian legislative and regulatory frameworks 
  • Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders and develop partnersihps 
  • Experience in research, proposal writing and developing interactive and engaging training materials  
  • Experience working with individuals and/or families affected by disasters, in a community services’ organisation or similar setting 
  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and manage innovative projects 
  • Proficient in using data analytic tools, such as PowerBI and Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Teams.
