About the role

As the Internal Audit Lead, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Safety, Sustainability and Risk Group.

This is a 12-month parental leave cover that is an integral role for V/Line. You will lead V/Line’s internal audit program with our outsourced Internal Audit Provider. You are the conduit between the organisation and the external audit firm overseeing the lifecycle of a range of audits.

Key Accountabilities include:

·Facilitate the development and ongoing delivery of V/Line’s Internal Audit Plan with the Outsourced Internal Audit Firm.

·Coordinate and schedule each internal audit, including entry and close out meetings.

·Collaborate with Management, draft action plans in response to observations and recommendations presented in internal audit reports.

·Collaborate with the Outsourced Internal Audit Firm to finalise each internal audit report for Audit and Risk Committee meetings.

·Monitor the status of each committed action and provide status reports to the Executive Management Committee and Audit and Risk Committee on a quarterly basis.

·Facilitate the ongoing maintenance and update of V/Line’s Enterprise Assurance Map.

·Co-ordinate external audits and maintain evidence registers.

·Ensure timely reporting to all relevant regulatory bodies as required.

·Prepare Executive Management and Audit and Risk Committee reports on audit items.

About you

You will bring with you your strong stakeholder engagement and communications skills that enable you to drive positive outcomes.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

·Demonstrated alignment to V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

·Effectively drive change in a complex environment with multiple change activities.

·Delivery of high quality, outcomes focused internal audits, both individually and across a portfolio.

·Consistent delivery of reports to Senior Management, Executive Management and Audit and Risk Committees on internal audit items.

·Collaboratively working with the outsourced internal audit service provider to ensure the strategic internal audit plan is delivered as per the schedule.

·Demonstrated experience in internal audit methodologies from one or more professional services firms, preferably from one or more ‘Big 4’.

·3-5 years’ experience in risk management and internal audit functions.

·Tertiary qualifications in commerce or business (or other related field to the role), with post graduate qualifications in a related field are highly desirable.

·Experience in using Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) is desirable.

·Certified Internal Audit (CIA)/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/ Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) or equivalent are highly desirable.
