Job SummaryWe're seeking an experienced Internal Audit Manager to join our dynamic Group Internal Audit team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the control environment at Energy Australia. Your primary responsibility will be to drive the completion of our approved audit plan, collaborating with various business units to understand their unique risks.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a risk-based audit program that maximizes efficiency and effectiveness.
- Plan and lead the timely execution of compliance, operations, and application systems audits in accordance with the standards of Energy Australia's Internal Audit department and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
- Identify process improvements, insights, and simplification of auditees' tasks.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the audit methodology, through automating audit tasks and embedding new audit techniques to improve the value of the engagements.
- Assist in preparing quarterly reporting to Energy Australia's Internal Audit department and Audit Committees.
- Assist with timely completed irregularity reviews and investigations into Fraud or Code of Conduct non-compliances.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or a related discipline.
- Prefer post-graduate qualification, e.g. CA or CPA.
- Strong experience in auditing both financial and operational units.
- Preferably experience from a large accounting firm or ASX top 50 company in internal/external audit or related discipline.
- Effective and skilled influencer and collaborative communicator.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Leadership capability as potential successor to the Head of Group Internal Audit, with relevant leadership presence.
- Strategic thinking ability.
- Leadership experience in an audit function, emphasis on teamwork, integrity, flexibility, and initiative.
