About the role
As a Support Worker within our shared living team, you will play an essential role in supporting and empowering people with disability to live a life of their choosing. Working in both a team environment and independently, you will provide a range of services assisting clients to live independently, be actively involved in their local community, and engaged in meaningful opportunities. 

This is a permanent part time position, working in a house at Killarney Vale. Contract is for 31 hours in a fortnight, shifts will include 2 x sleep overs and a day shift.  Flexibility to work these shifts & pick up other shifts across our services on the Central Coast is a must 

Key focus
Supporting our clients to live as independently as possible by assisting with activities of daily living, this can include menu planning, cooking and cleaning. 
Supports may include personal care needs and assistance with medication.
Supporting clients to live an active lifestyle and participate in their community through the delivery of a range of person-centred programs.
Work to behaviour support plans by utilising positive behaviour strategies.
Communication with families about clients' progress

About You
You are passionate about making a difference As a positive and energetic person, you want to contribute and provide exceptional support to our clients. You want to be part of a fun and dynamic environment, so teamwork is something you love. You have a flair for creativity, whilst also being organised. You will demonstrate the ability to engage, communicate and build partnerships with people.

Experience in the Disability sector is essential.
Demonstrated experience supporting clients with challenging behaviours is desirable 
Ability to support others with personal and hygiene care and happy for this to be part of your job.
Personal qualities of resilience, empathy and self-confidence
High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude while acting with integrity, honesty and respect
You must have a drivers license and vehicle
