As a Senior Network and Security Engineer, you will be a key member of our Cyber Security team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network solutions to safeguard our clients' networks and data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain a robust network security posture.

Responsibilities

1. Firewall Design and Implementation

  • Design, configure, and implement advanced firewall solutions to protect network infrastructure.

  • Evaluate and recommend the most suitable firewall technologies based on the organization's needs.

2. Wireless Network Security

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure wireless networks, including access point configurations, authentication methods, and encryption standards.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of wireless network infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.

  • Monitor network traffic and security logs to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.

3. Security Governance

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies and procedures.

  • Monitor firewall rule sets, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

4. Incident Response and Threat Mitigation

  • Respond to security incidents promptly and effectively, performing analysis and implementing corrective actions.

  • Stay up to date with emerging threats and vulnerabilities, and proactively implement measures to mitigate risks.

5. Network Security Optimisation

  • Continuously assess and optimise network security configurations to ensure maximum protection.

  • Participate in security and vulnerability assessments, compliance audits, and penetration testing.

6. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed documentation of firewall configurations, security policies, and incident reports.

  • Prepare and present regular reports to management on the state of network security.

7. Collaboration and Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into all aspects of the organization.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

  • Work with our vendors to implement changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field.

  • At least 7 years of experience in networking and firewall engineering.

  • Professional networking and/or security certifications (Eg. CISSP,CMSS, PCNSE).

  • Proficiency in firewall technologies and products from Palo Alto Networks

  • Proficiency in Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi.

  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.

  • Experience with intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and SIEM solutions.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security.

  • Knowledge of cloud networking and security services and best practices (Eg. AWS, Azure).

  • Experience in vendor engagement.
