We are seeking a dedicated Senior Local Area Coordinator (SLAC) to join our team in Southern Adelaide, with a primary focus on supporting the Noarlunga region. In this key role, you will provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to our Local Area Coordinators (LACs), helping to solve complex problems and ensuring the highest level of support for people with disabilities. With your in-depth knowledge of the NDIS and the LAC function, you'll be the expert our teams rely on, helping to build capacity and elevate performance. This is your opportunity to lead with passion, make a significant impact, and guide our dedicated LAC staff toward success.

This position is currently focused on the Noarlunga region; however, flexibility is essential as you may be required to provide support to other regions across the state, with potential travel required.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is adaptable, knowledgeable, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

If you're a dynamic leader ready to make a difference, we want you on our team

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Help community members navigate the NDIS, access essential services, and develop tailored plans.

  • Inspire clients to achieve personal goals, boost community involvement, and enhance social opportunities.

  • Supervise and mentor a team of 12-15 LACs, driving high-performance and capacity-building initiatives.

  • Address performance issues, investigate incidents, and promote best practices.

  • Support engagement activities, foster strong stakeholder relationships, and enhance service delivery.

  • Oversee NDIS participants, ensure accurate documentation, and handle administrative tasks efficiently.

  • Flexibility to lead and support other LAC teams across the SA Region when required.

Requirements for Success

With a significant background in the disability and/or child, youth & family sectors, you will be confident in your administrative and assessment processes.  Other requirements include:

  • Proven experience working with people with disabilities and their families using a strength-based approach.

  • Strong skills in supervising and mentoring staff, with effective change management abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear reporting and presentation and proficiency in data analytics and interpretation.

  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to address issues and risks confidently.

  • Ability to engage reluctant users of support services and build lasting relationships.

  • Full driver's licence with no restrictions is desirable but not mandatory.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
