RetireAustralia is seeking a talented and dedicated cook to join our passionate team at our Lincoln Grove Retirement Village on a part-time basis. As our inhouse cook, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional cooking services to our residents, ensuring they enjoy delicious and nutritious meals while adhering to the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies and procedures.
The Position
Reporting to the Village Manager, you will also be responsible for:
- Assisting in the control and monitoring of stock take, food orders, and costing for an efficient kitchen operation.
- Maintaining and managing food handling regulations.
- Planning and preparing food for events and special functions within the village.
- Ensuring privacy and confidential policies are adhere to strictly and information regarding our residents will only be provided to external parties by management.
We’re on the lookout for someone with:
- Good availability across weekdays and weekends
- Availability to work every 2nd Wednesday night – 4 hour shift
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Experience in preparation of nutritionally adequate and appropriate meals specific to a range of special requirements for elderly residents
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/formal Chef/Cook training
- Current Food Handling Certificate
- National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
- First Aid & CPR Certificate (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment including Drug and Alcohol Testing
