The Role

Position purpose

To contribute to the successful and safe delivery of painting operations through the effective management of administrative tasks, people and scheduling to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability. Furthermore, the supervisor is accountable for managing staff materials and equipment on each project, ensuring that projects are managed to a safe, successful and profitable conclusion and to the customer’s satisfaction. They are accountable for ensuring that project budgets are met or bettered with an emphasis on labour, materials, equipment and other costs. In addition, the successful applicant is also responsible for capitalizing on Property Services operational success by generating sales opportunities and quoting additional work.

Qualifications

  • Trades qualification.
  • Additional development/ qualification in project management.

Experience &Knowledge

  • A proven track record in the building industry as a painter, supervisor, project manager or related industry experience in a similar role.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Intermediate proficiency with mobile technology such as iPads or tablet computers

Responsibilities.

  • Forward planning and diary skills are used in the control of the project
  • Oversees the efficient allocation of Programmed Property Services Property and Equipment (P&E) to operational staff.
  • Ensures all employees are equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to operate P&E in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Undertakes regular audits of all P&E to ensure that all P&E are serviced regularly and are safe for operations. Takes corrective actions as required.
  • Ensures all operational activity and practices are completed in a timely manner and in line with Programmed standards, policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Manages customers expectation through frequent, accurate and timely updates. - Acts and communicates with integrity in all client dealings, ensuring that all promises made can be and are delivered meeting clients expectations.
  • Ensures the delivery of operational excellence to maximise customer satisfaction and provides an avenue to promote Programmed Property Services and generate opportunities to quote additional work
  • Ensures all planning is completed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance within Programmed policy and procedures. Ensures all reasonable steps are taken to mitigate HSE risks
  • Communicates all operational requirements and site information to operational staff prior to commencement of work
  • Prior to any works commencing, reviews all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements and takes actions to mitigate and remove all reasonable risks possible.
  • Continuously reviews operational status ensuring works are undertaken in a safe and timely manner meeting budgetary requirements and meeting clients expectations
  • Oversees the timely resolution of any operational issues.
  • Ensures all operations are completed in a safe, successful with a profitable outcome and meeting clients expectations

Safety and environment

  • Ensures all employees and subcontractors are inducted, and that they have the knowledge, skills and competencies to deliver the operational requirements in line with Programmed HSE policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all employees receive coaching, guidance and regular feedback in regard to HSE and disseminates any additional information provided by the HSE Team.
  • Takes an active role in reviewing HSE onsite and takes corrective actions as required.
  • Follows up any incidents and near misses and takes corrective action as appropriate
  • Monitors the health of employees and workplace conditions.
  • Takes corrective actions as required.
  • Provides regular feedback to PPS HSE team to ensure HSE systems and processes are industry best practice.

Team Leadership

  • Coaches, mentors and/or develops operational staff and identifies high potential people to improve the succession of the team.
  • Provides mediation and support for any conflicts that arise, engaging with Group Human Resource team as required to obtain specialist advice, guidance, support or representation across any aspect of human resource or industrial relations process, systems or project services.
