The Role: Head Chef

We're looking for a passionate and creative Head Chef to lead our kitchen team This full-time salaried position is perfect for someone who loves perfecting pub classics and experimenting with fresh, seasonal specials.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Inspire: Manage day-to-day and strategic kitchen operations with a hands-on approach.
  • Culinary Excellence: Ensure exceptional food quality, from the perfect Schnitzel to innovative specials.
  • Team Management: Recruit, retain, and roster staff, supporting apprentices and fostering a positive team environment.
  • Cost Control: Monitor costs, portion control, and waste minimization.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Menu Development: Create and develop menus for specials, bistro dining, functions, and events.

What We're Looking For:
  • Qualifications: Trade qualified (Cert IV in Cookery).
  • Experience: Minimum two years as a Sous or Head Chef in a high-paced, high-quality kitchen.
  • Skills: Modern, innovative culinary skills, strong knowledge of food trends, cost control, and presentation.
  • Leadership: Experience in scheduling, managing, mentoring, and training staff.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
