The Role: Head Chef

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. This full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about refining pub classics and introducing fresh, seasonal specials.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Inspire: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations with a hands-on approach
  • Culinary Excellence: Ensure exceptional food quality and craft innovative specials
  • Team Management: Recruit, retain, and schedule staff, supporting apprentices and maintaining a positive team environment
  • Cost Control: Monitor expenses, portion control, and reduce waste
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to all health, safety, and food standards
  • Menu Development: Create menus for specials, bistro dining, and events

About You

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Must be Trade qualified (Cert IV in Cookery)
  • Experience: Minimum two years as a Sous or Head Chef in a high-quality kitchen
  • Skills: Modern culinary skills, in-depth knowledge of food trends, cost management, and presentation
  • Leadership: Experience in scheduling, managing, mentoring, and training staff
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience
  • Adaptability: Work well under pressure with a calm and professional demeanor
