Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Technologist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying engineering principles and technological advancements to improve and manage our manufacturing processes and products. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with engineering technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and refine manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to production teams, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the design and development of new products, ensuring they meet client specifications and industry standards.
  • Implement and oversee quality control procedures to maintain high product standards and address any non-conformance issues.
  • Manage the maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
  • Collect and analyze data related to production processes, using findings to drive improvements and innovations.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead and manage engineering projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful completion.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains, and implement appropriate solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the steel or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
