Cyber Security Business Analyst  - Fixed-term full-time contract to 30th November 2025
Location: Sydney CBD (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days WFH)

As a Cyber Security Business Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding Uniting’s digital assets while driving high-impact cyber security projects and initiatives. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll collaborate closely with product owners and stakeholders across the organisation to define, prioritise, and deliver solutions that ensure security and value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitating Workshops and Process Mapping: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritise requirements using agile practices.
  • Solution Delivery: Partner with consultants and technical teams to ensure solutions align with business needs.
  • Security Capability Uplift: Support discovery, requirements gathering, stakeholder coordination, and documentation for projects and BAU activities.
  • Agile Practices: Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Process and Solution Validation: Ensure alignment with both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Testing Coordination: Lead testing efforts, including user acceptance testing.
  • Change Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption of solutions.
  • Team Support: Foster collaboration across IT teams, stakeholders, and delivery teams to achieve project goals.

Skills and Competencies

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to deliver creative, timely solutions.
  • Organisation: Strong planning, time management, and goal-setting skills.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Hands-on experience in cyber security implementations (e.g., Network Segmentation, Cloud Security, IAM, Email Security).
    • Basic understanding of cyber security frameworks, risks, and compliance.
    • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, and industry standards like BABOK.
  • Agility: Proficient in agile methodologies and participating in scrum ceremonies.
  • Soft Skills: Creative thinking, facilitation, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years as a Business Analyst, with a focus on cyber security projects.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, defining business value, requirements, and benefits realisation for multiple technical projects in various lifecycle stages
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience navigating complex organisations, forging relationships, and influencing outcomes.
