Your opportunity:

Our Digital & Information group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Digital Infrastructure Program Lead to join our newly established Digital Programs team.

Digital & Information is responsible for digitally enabling Urban Utilities today and digitally transforming future capability to enable provision of digital services to our customers, community and people. The group is accountable to formulate and execute Urban Utilities’ digital & data strategy, deliver Urban Utilities digital portfolio and provide day-to-day operations of information technology (IT), operating technology (OT), data, and the Internet of Things (IOT), including security, infrastructure management, system administration, network operations, and support services.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital Infrastructure Programs, the Digital Infrastructure Program Lead is responsible for leading the successful delivery of infrastructure programs within the broader digital infrastructure portfolio. This role involves managing a team of project and program managers accountable for various projects and programs. The Digital Infrastructure Program Lead ensures that all infrastructure projects are delivered within scope, time, cost, and quality constraints, aligning with Urban Utilities' strategic objectives.

Success in this role will be measured by the timely and cost -effective delivery of infrastructure programs, adherence to quality standards, stakeholder satisfaction, and the seamless integration of new infrastructure into operational environments. Key performance indicators will include on-time project delivery, budget adherence, quality of delivered infrastructure, and readiness f or operational handover.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Program/ Project Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Relevant qualifications in Agile, PRINCE2, or PMBOK would be advantageous

  • Demonstrated experience in IT program management, leading, managing, and directing a team of professionals in the delivery of complex solutions in a multifaceted environment.

  • Strong knowledge of digital infrastructure technologies across ICT, OT, data, and IoT domains

  • Extensive experience in delivering infrastructure architecture, including storage area network and redundant, highly available server and network architectures.

  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and planning to lower costs in the long run.

  • Strong knowledge of performance management methodologies and tools.

  • Demonstrated experience running a similar multi-function unit in a large organization, ideally with a customer-centric model.

  • Experience in engaging with stakeholders to identify business requirements.

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and leading innovation in the technology space.

Performance of ‘on call’ duties are an inherent requirement of this role. This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position. The days, times, duration and frequency of on call arrangements may be subject to change, including at short notice, as required by Urban Utilities’ operational needs as applying from time to time. At all times whilst on-call, you must be fit for duty, contactable, and able to respond, including the ability to physically attend if required, to the operational needs of the business within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner.
