Ascot, Australia St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School Full time

St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School is one of Queensland’s leading independent schools, fostering in students confidence, compassion, academic excellence and a lifelong love of learning. We look for all staff to be committed to and in harmony with the Anglican ethos of the school.

We are currently seeking applications for the role of:

Executive Assistant to the Deputy Principal / Global Exchange Coordinator

The Role

This unique role is integral to the smooth operation of the school and combines two key elements:

  • Supporting the Deputy Principal - the successful candidate will proactively manage the office of the Deputy Principal.  This is a very busy office and the successful candidate will be relied upon to manage the Deputy Principal’s diary, draft correspondence, assist with the timetable, school calendar and coordinating some key school events.  No two days are the same and the successful candidate will enjoy the variety of ‘whatever comes their way’.
  • Coordinating the Global Exchange Program - the successful candidate will have the rewarding opportunity to work closely with the Deputy Principal to coordinate the Year 10 Global Exchange Program, ensuring the school remains truly a ‘Local School with a Global Outlook’.  In coordinating the exchange program, this role coordinates the selection of suitable students for exchange, supports students and their families throughout the program and coordinates the logistics and compliance requirements of the exchange

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced, highly professional and knowledgeable administrator, with an interest in working with students.  You will demonstrate:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to students, parents, colleagues and others in the school community.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to remain positive whilst managing many tasks.
  • A high level of initiative and ability to think quickly on your feet.
  • Exceptional computer skills including advanced skills with the Microsoft Suite and the ability to learn new computer systems quickly.  Your attention to detail will be 100%.
  • The ability to work well in a team is essential as the role works with a range of staff across the school.
  • The ability to quickly grasp an understanding of the school’s structure and expectations and in turn pre-empt what is required by the Deputy Principal

What To Expect

In recognition of the school’s commitment to providing an exceptional work environment for all staff, St Margaret’s has recently been awarded a 5-star Employer of Choice by The Educator for a fourth consecutive year. We are proud of our commitment to making St Margaret’s a leading place to work. As part of working at a recognised employer of choice you would enjoy:

  • An inclusive workplace with strong focus on staff wellbeing with a range of wellbeing initiatives offered to staff; an employee assistance program, free flu vaccinations and massages.
  • A great team environment with regular opportunities to participate in social activities, school functions and morning teas.
  • Access to high-quality professional development opportunities.

This is a full-time role across the year.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly competent administrator with a warm personality and an interest in working in a fast-paced school environment.
