We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Treasury Accountant to join our Finance & Technology team on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

Reporting to the Treasury Accounting Team Leader Finance Operations & Transformation you will play a key role in the provision of internal and external financial reporting for APA Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing of periodic swap and loan payments incorporating revaluations, internal and investor approval processes, payment upload, authorisation and releases.

  • Update daily cashflow and communicate with treasury front office team in a timely manner.

  • Maintain fx exchange rates in the ERP system.

  • Accurate and timely creation and processing of treasury transactions including bank account transfer, short term and long term deposits and recall, fx settlement and dividend distribution for APA and its managed investments

  • Prepare relevant general ledger account reconciliations in Blackline system.

  • Assist with maintaining APA’s treasury management systems and APA’s Banking Systems

  • Assist in the preparation of month end tasks such as AASB139/9, bank journals, valuation & effectiveness testing, interest allocations

  • Prepare cash flow forecasting and reporting (e.g. separate identification of proceeds from borrowings / repayment of borrowings).

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on treasury matters.

  • Assist Treasury Analyst with interest and borrowing costs budgeting and forecasting and preparation of Compliance Certificates as required for managed investments.

Your background

  • Tertiary degree qualification in Accounting and/or Finance.

  • CPA/CA required.

  • Experience in a similar role within corporate treasury environment or general financial services.

  • Sound understanding of financial markets, accounting, tax, and legal issues relating to treasury.

  • Extensive experience using a treasury system and ability to price interest rate and foreign exchange derivatives is highly advantageous.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

About the Team

The Treasury Accounting team is responsible for treasury operation, accounting and internal/external reporting which are related on cash, borrowings and derivatives. The team is part of the Finance Operations & Transformation team.

The Finance Division is responsible for all corporate financial activities that are related to the functioning, governance or consolidation of the group as a whole. The division is responsible for the provision of effective financial accounting and support functions to the internal business, and value add, revenue generating services to external entities.

To help APA power ahead, the team is accountable for providing financial reporting services across APA, including performance reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, system enhancement proposals, processes improvements, and providing quality advice to the business.
