- leading the delivery of the annual financial statement process for Treasury agency
- providing high level strategic, tactical and operational financial advice and support

You will join our **Treasury Finance** branch which is part of the **Treasury Finance and Services (F&S)** division and will be working within the **Financial Management and Services Group. **Read more about your future Group and Division.

**Your day as an Associate Director - Financial Accounting**

Your typical day-to-day as an Associate Director - Financial Accounting will be key in providing leadership for the development and delivery of NSW Treasury’s financial statements and governance requirements. The role is responsible for maintaining strong and effective partnerships within the agency to promote the achievement of financial and broader organisational objectives. It also contributes to the delivery of projects specific to the team and the broader Treasury Finance team.

You will also a anticipate the financial risks and implications of business decisions, and take appropriate action based on evidence and best practice.

This role liaises extensively with other areas within Treasury, with NSW government agencies and equivalents in other jurisdictions across Australia, and with external stakeholders.

**Achieve success as Associate Director - Financial Accounting**

You will be successful in this role if you have:

- professional accounting qualifications; CAANZ or CPA or equivalent essential
- demonstrated extensive skills and experience in financial accounting including completion of statutory reporting, risk governance, fixed assets and banking controls, accounts payable operations, analysis
- advanced knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, including the latest current and future developments
