Role

We’re very excited at Kaplan Business School to be recruiting an additional Academic Head for our newest discipline – Information Technology.

Reporting to the Academic Director of IT and working alongside three Academic Heads, this is a highly administrative position without direct reports but with day-to-day tasks that include the recruitment and scheduling of faculty, the coordination of subjects, the review of curriculum, the monitoring of student performance, the proactive implementation of interventions and much more.

Our ideal candidate is an early career academic passionate about teaching excellence who is keen to step up into a management role at an institute of higher education with very high levels of faculty engagement and a vibrant alumni community.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality, relevance and currency of the discipline’s subjects
  • Recruit, coach and engage a faculty almost entirely new to Kaplan Business School
  • Proactively address metrics of success such as progression and attrition
  • Implement interventions to protect student welfare and enrich their satisfaction

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Membership of an industry association such as the Australian Computer Society
  • Experience as a teacher and subject coordinator in a higher education context
  • Industry experience as a practitioner within the IT sector
