ANIMAL ATTENDANT | PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME
 

The Role
Our animal attendants are the dependable, extra set of hands for our nursing team. They are passionate about animal wellbeing and animal husbandry. They aid our nursing team in achieving greater efficiency by assisting with general patient care and are willing to help the team wherever needed. This role is available both Part-time or Full-time, overnight hours / day hours are available.

Duties will include

  • Cage cleaning and re-setting
  • Walking, feeding and offering water to patients under nurse instruction
  • Assisting in unpacking disposable (needles, syringes etc) and pharmacy (medication) orders under nurse instruction
  • Maintaining cleanliness of hospital areas throughout the day/evening as required, including floors in treatment and ward spaces
  • Daily laundry upkeep and restocking
  • Cleaning of patient dishes

About you

  • Hold a Certificate II/III in Animal Studies
  • Previous experience in the animal care industry highly desirable
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic and an excellent communicator
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment 
  • Can support and be part of a team: you work well with all levels of hospital team members
  • Enjoy working in an upbeat team environment with some good banter 
  • Interested in a role that will allow you to make a real difference to the wellbeing of patients
  • Ability to commence immediately highly regarded
