Finance Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Country Director of BESTSELLER Australia Pty Ltd, the Finance Manager is a key part of the team. Showing leadership, financial and analytical excellence to help drive and support the business achieving overall goals and objectives. The position is responsible for the overall finance function of the organisation, including management reporting, audit support, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll. The position is also responsible to oversee improvement of financially related internal controls and processes across the wider organisation and to support the operations through effective management of vendors and cost management. Creating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and possessing outstanding communication, compliance, and negotiation skills.  

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Your professional responsibilities and tasks:

• Thorough commercial and business minded understanding of the fashion industry in Australia and New Zealand, help drive and ensure execution of goal and project to support the business overall growth ambitions.
• Ensure all BESTSELLER Australia’s financial processes and procedures are robust and compliant with BESTSELLER’s internal controls and external reporting requirements.
• Perform profitability analysis and help negotiate new contracts with Wholesale customers.
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasting and monitoring performance against these targets.
• Have overall responsibility for the entire month and year end close processes for the legal entity at GL, AP & AR levels, including cost analysis.
• Oversee the audit process and liaise with external personnel to deliver the annual audit.
• Liaise with tax advisors and ensure tax compliance and any associated regulatory compliance. 
• Any additional tasks related to reporting, analytics, banking, and financial success of the business.
• Take ownership for growing the team through financial coaching and setting clear expectations, while maintaining a hands-on approach.
• Actively contribute to the business plan as an integral part of the Australian management team, to assist in ensuring strategic alignment with core functions and departments.
• Work closely with BESTSELLER group functions such as Insurance, Legal, Treasury, Finance and Logistics ensuring compliance.
• Drive the Finance agenda into the future, seeking sustainability and competitive advantage in order to drive a world class finance function.
• Preparing high quality performance reporting to support business decisions.
• Regularly perform profitability analysis and negotiate new contracts with stakeholders where required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor qualification or at least 5 years of relevant employment experience in lieu of formal qualification.
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Head of Finance within a target driven organisation, including commercial and business involvement
• Experience with SAP systems is a prerequisite.
• Ability to establish strong relationships to lead across the organisation, maintaining a cross functional perspective and quickly establishing relationships to enable this
