Job Description

We are seeking for a Graduate System Engineer to join our Global Infrastructure team in Sydney. Reporting to the Engineering Manager – Core Technology. You will supporting, managing, and enhancing our IT environment, working with both Windows and Linux operating systems. Collaborating closely with senior engineers, you will troubleshoot issues, maintain system stability, and drive improvements.

What you'll do as a Graduate System Engineer:

  • Delivering and maintaining infrastructure for a number of Symbio's business segments
  • Involve working across server infrastructure, assisting in the deployment and management of both physical and virtual servers, as well as integrating with security and observability platforms
  • Working collaboratively with Software and Network teams in deploying and supporting systems and services to achieve engineering best practice
  • Responsible for managing and developing platforms and applications to ensure the future interests of the company are secured
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues within designated business segments

Qualifications

What you'll need to succeed:

  • A recently completed university degree or qualification in IT, Computer Science or Engineering related degrees, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Linux and Windows Server Systems Skills – install, configure, use, troubleshoot.
  • Some experience in a systems or software engineering role
  • Knowledge in Automation and DevOps (Ansible and CI/CD pipelines)
  • Knowledge of revision control systems (esp. GitLab/GitHub)
  • Knowledge of virtualisation (vmware and kvm)
  • Knowledge of IP Data Networking
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
