Accountability Objective:
The Operations Support Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our business operations. This position involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including safety reporting, data management, administrative duties, and supporting operational improvements. By facilitating communication across departments, the Operations Support Officer enables effective teamwork towards achieving organizational goals.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

Operations and Asset Management

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance mechanic and workshop efficiency.
  • Support L&D manager to execute staff inductions and training programs.
  • Participate in Regional Operations reviews and implement operational improvements.
  • Ensure customer insights drive service enhancements.
  • Contribute to business process improvements through accurate data management.

Purchasing

  • Manage operational and Capex expenses within budget.
  • Oversee external service providers to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Control asset purchases to ensure compliance and uptime.
  • Monitor savings initiatives and performance KPIs.

Reporting and Administration

  • Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide business insights and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Report on sales and operational targets.
  • Assist with staff planning and attendance at conferences.
  • Support team development and compliance training activities.

Operational Security, Safety, and Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures through internal audits.
  • Maintain security and safety standards for products, information, and equipment.
  • Manage vehicle and equipment maintenance as per WHSE requirements.
  • Oversee site WHSE compliance during audits and stocktakes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a medium to large organization.
  • Degree in Business, Operations, or relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience with analytic tools like PowerBI is advantageous.
  • Ability to operate strategically and operationally.
  • Strong commercial acumen and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
  • High-level PC capabilities and exceptional time management skills
