This unique and hands-on Special Counsel role offers high visibility with executive leadership, providing expert legal advice and leading the legal response for various high-profile projects.
We are seeking a seasoned legal professional with a strong background in commercial disputes, an exceptional ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, and a proven track record of managing high-value matters to optimal outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Provide expert, pragmatic legal advice on complex commercial disputes
- Act as the primary legal contact for high-profile commercial dispute projects
- Partner with senior business leaders to simplify complex legal matters and deliver commercially sound solutions
- Proactively identify opportunities to mitigate legal risks and enhance outcomes on dispute-related projects
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the legal team
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of disputes
What You’ll Bring
- Law degree and current Australian Practising Certificate (mandatory)
- 15+ years PQE in litigation and commercial disputes
- Proven ability to resolve complex disputes on optimal terms in high-pressure environments
- Exceptional advocacy, contractual interpretation, and regulatory expertise
- Ability to provide clear, concise advice to senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and agility under tight timeframes
